Police are investigating a high value theft of cable from a solar energy farm near Lancaster University.
The incident occurred overnight on Saturday into the early hours of Sunday, on Hazelrigg Lane in Lancaster.
Police believe the theft will have required large vehicles and possibly a number of suspects.
"This is a high value theft and the Neighbourhood Policing team are seeking any information you may have in relation to this matter," said a spokesperson for Lancaster Area Police.
"If you saw anything suspicious in this area either at the time of the theft please contact 101 quoting 0362 13th April."
