Morecambe scooter rally returning after year break

A popular celebration of scooter culture is returning to Morecambe next year, it has been confirmed.

The Morecambe Rides Again event took a break in 2026 but will be back in 2027, it was announced on Wednesday.

"We're back on for 2027 folks....dates to be announced shortly," said a post on the event's official Facebook page.

Morecambe Rides Again is traditionally a full weekend of entertainment, with scooterists taking part in a special Ride Out and Ride In from and to the Promenade, followed by a Custom Show on the Stone Jetty and a headline evening of live music at venues in the West End.

Announcing last year that the event would take a break in 2026, a spokesperson said: ‘’There are lots of reasons for the cancellation, including the number of other events now taking place the same weekend and the cost of running such an event continuing to increase.

‘’So, the organising team are taking a year out which will give us the opportunity to give the event a refresh, and hopefully put us in a much better place for 2027.

‘’We appreciate a lot of folk have supported the weekend over the years and we are truly thankful for that.

‘’We look forward to seeing you back for Morecambe Rides Again in 2027.’’

Morecambe has been a hotbed for scooterists for decades with rallies bringing thousands to the resort.
