A popular Lancaster shop selling gifts handmade by talented and creative local makers is about to close its doors.
The Meet the Makers shop in Marketgate's final day of trading will be Friday March 1.
The shop stocks beautiful prints, unique ornaments and many other gifts and handmade products - many of them themed on the Lancaster and Morecambe area.
"It is with much sadness that we have made the difficult decision to close the Meet the Makers little shop of handmade loveliness in Marketgate Lancaster," said a post on the Meet the Makers Facebook page.
"It has been a joy to be part of the high street community and we will be forever grateful for the loyal support our amazing customers in Lancaster have been.
"We will still be open seven days a week until 1st March and will have lots of locally handmade loveliness for you in the shop until we close.
"Thank you to everyone who made our dreams possible.
"Jan, Liz and the crazy makers."
The shop has been run by the Meet the Makers Collective, described as "a group for talented folk who design, create and want to sell their work alongside like minded people".
Their mission is to "create unique selling space for local creatives to work together to deliver locally handmade products to the local community".
They made the decision to close because members of the group run their own independent businesses full-time and therefore couldn't keep the shop running as well.
The Meet the Makers group will continue to sell products from its arts and crafts stalls. Dates have been announced in St Nic's Arcades on September 28, October 26, November 30 and December 14.
