Alexei Sayle and Nigel Planer, stars of 80s comedy The Young Ones, will appear in conversation at The Morecambe TV and Film Festival later this year.
The annual celebration of the TV and Film industry, which began in 2024 in the town, returns in July.
The retrospective will include a live appearance from both stars, alongside writer Lise Mayer and director Paul Jackson.
Alexi Sayle was a leading figure in the British alternative comedy movement in the 1980s, and was a main performer in The Comic Strip, a group of British comedians who came to prominence through the decade, in addition to playing various characters in both series of The Young Ones between 1982 and 1984.
Nigel Planer, best known for his role as Neil, the hippie housemate in the show, is a much loved star of TV and the West End stage musicals, as well as his accomplishments as a writer and musician.
Nigel, who is no stranger to Morecambe having been a headliner at last year’s Morecambe Poetry Festival, will also be launching the paperback of his autobiography, ‘Young Once’.
The event will also include a special screening of Stanley Kubrick’s legendary horror movie, The Shining, followed by a Q&A with Executive Producer Jan Harlan.
Meanwhile, The West End Players and Crombie Film will present a premiere of the English version of ‘The Good Soldier Schweik’, an animated film from war torn Ukraine.
More line up details and ticket information will be announced in due course, and you can find more updates on this Facebook page
