A man has been charged after a pedestrian died after being by a car in Morecambe last year.
The collision occurred on Ovangle Road near to the Household Waste Recycling Centre on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 16, where a black Hyundai i30 collided with a pedestrian walking on the pavement.
The pedestrian, a 42-year-old man from Lancaster, died on Christmas Day.
Yesterday, John Gavin, 41, of Musk Lane, Dudley, West Midlands was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving whilst disqualified, causing death by driving when unlicensed / uninsured, failing to stop after a road accident, committing an act or series of acts with intent to pervert the course of justice, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance.
He appeared at Lancaster Magistrates Court today, Friday, where he appeared this morning and was further remanded to appear before Preston Crown Court on April 10.
