A couple well-known for running cafes in Morecambe say they've definitely made the right move as they settle into their new premises close to the Eden Project site.
Jo and Lee Robinson took over the former AJ's Burger Bar on Marine Road Central last year and their new 'Jo-n-Lees' sign went up at their new location last week.
Previously, the Robinsons ran Jo-n-Lees cafe at the Westgate shopping precinct in Morecambe before closing earlier this year.
They also had Jo-n-Lees by the Sea at the former VVV complex at Hest Bank, overlooking Morecambe Bay, from 2019 to 2022.
Now four years on, they're back by the bay and Lee said it's been the realisation of a long-term dream.
"We got to 10 years at Westgate and decided it was time for a change," said Lee.
"I used to walk past this place on the Promenade and think, I'd love to have that one day."
Their new food kiosk, which serves a full menu with affordable prices, with outdoor seating, and also does delivery and takeaway, is close to where work will start on the Eden Project Morecambe attraction on the central Promenade in June.
Lee said their recent customers have included contractors who told them they will soon be starting on the Eden site.
"I'm hoping Eden will bring a lot of people to Morecambe," he said.
"I'd also like to see Morecambe come back as a seaside resort, bring a fairground back and put a pier up again."
Jo, who grew up in Cornwall close to the original Eden Project, and Lee reopened the former AJ's last summer.
Lee said business was "amazing" and had "surpassed my expectations".
"We love it, it's definitely been the right move and you can't beat that view across the Bay," he said.
*It was announced this week that work will start on the Eden Project site on June 24.
