A one-day music festival in Lancaster advertising a headline appearance by chart-topping rapper Tinchy Stryder has been cancelled.
Boundary Beats was due to take place at Lancaster Cricket & Sports Club on Saturday September 19, after being delayed from an originally announced date in May.
But Pitchside Presents, the Lancaster-based events company promoting the festival, has messaged ticket holders saying the event is off.
The message received by customers this week said: "Hi everyone. We're really sorry to have to share this news, but unfortunately we have made the difficult decision to cancel the festival.
"We know many of you were looking forward to the event and we're genuinely sorry for the disappointment this will cause.
"We want to thank everyone who has supported us, bought tickets, shared our posts and helped us build the festival, unfortunately the licensing issue and refunds thereafter have just made this unviable.
"All tickets are now being processed for a full refund.
"Refunds are being handled through Stripe, our payment provider.
"Once the refunds have been processed from our side, the timing of when the money reaches your account is unfortunately controlled by Stripe and your payment provider.
"We're working through the refunds as quickly as we can and will keep everything moving from our end. Please bear with us while this process is completed.
"You don't need to do anything if you purchased your ticket online - your refund will be processed automatically.
"We're incredibly disappointed that we won't be able to bring this event to you but we really appreciate your patience and understanding.
"Thank you again for your support."

As we went to press there has been no update on the Boundary Beats website, or on the festival social media since May, when it was announced the event had been rescheduled to September 19.
This led several people to comment on the event Facebook page asking if the festival was still happening.
Laura posted: "Does anyone know if this is still going ahead?"
Michelle asked: "Hi is this still going ahead?"
And Lindsay posted: "Is this still happening? It's been very quiet."
Beyond Radio has contacted Pitchside Presents and Lancaster Cricket & Sports Club for comment.
A spokesperson for the cricket club said they are not the event organisers, but confirmed that, to their knowledge, the festival has been cancelled.

We have received no reply from Pitchside Presents as we went to press.
The festival, also scheduled to feature a DJ stage headlined by top dance act K-Klass and live music from tribute bands and local artists, was originally due to be held on May 23.
It was rescheduled, said a Boundary Beats spokesperson at the time, due to "ongoing planning at the venue, and the local authorities needing more time to finalise arrangements".
At the time, a spokesperson for Boundary Beats said: ‘’We know this isn’t ideal, and we really appreciate your patience while everything is properly put in place.
‘’The good news is the lineup will remain very similar, and we’re using the extra time to make it even better with some big names being added. More to follow on that.
‘’As a thank you for your support, anyone who has bought a ticket and keeps their ticket will receive two free drinks per ticket on the day.
‘’If you’ve bought tickets, please check your email for full details, including refund options.
‘’Thanks again for sticking with us - we’ll see you in September.’’
Boundary Beats had been described as "a one-day community festival bringing together big acts, fan-favourite tribute performances, DJs, and a strong lineup of local artists, with kids entertainment running throughout the day".
As well as Tinchy Stryder, who had two number one hits in 2009 with 'Number 1' alongside N Dubz and 'Never Leave You' with Amelle, bands announced for the festival included Sam Fender tribute Sham Fender, Kasabian tribute Kasabian't and The Courtneers tribute Cortinas.
A spokesperson for Lancaster City Council said: "The council's Licensing Service has been in contact with representatives of the proposed event at various points during 2026 regarding a potential premises licence application.
"Event organisers were able to submit an application at any stage, which would then have been considered through the statutory licensing process, including the required consultation period.
"However, no application was submitted to the council and, as a result, no licensing decision has been made in relation to the event."
