Events at Lancaster Priory this weekend have been affected by the King's visit but a service attended by the Archbishop of York will still go ahead.
A planned Coffee Concert at the church on Saturday will not take place due to road closures and security measures in the Lancaster Castle area ahead of the King's visit on Monday.
Lancaster Priory, on behalf of Lancashire County Council and Lancashire Police, apologised for the late announcement of the concert cancellation. A rescheduled date will be confirmed.
"The area will feel a little different as there will be police presence around the Castle area and Priory grounds ahead of King Charles III's visit on Monday," said a spokesperson for Lancaster Priory.
"Some cars may be stopped by the police before being allowed to drive, without loitering, to the small, tarmacked area under the church tower.
"Please only bring your car if you have to and park as close to each other as possible, allowing access for as many as possible.
"Pedestrian access will be via Priory Close and Castle Hill as usual but please don’t loiter around the Castle perimeter as you may be questioned about your purpose by police on duty there. Church marshals will be present to help you.
"Thank you to the police for allowing this concession. Unfortunately, this doesn’t extend to the Saturday concert which remains postponed."
The Archbishop of York will be at the Priory this Pentecost Sunday at 4.30pm, for a special service of Choral Evensong as part of The Lord’s Prayer Tour.
All are welcome.
King Charles, the Duke of Lancaster, will visit the Castle, near the Priory, on Monday to take part in an ancient ceremonial tradition at the John O’Gaunt gateway, where he will be presented with the Keys to the Castle by Mrs Pam Barker DL, Constable of the Castle.
Following the ceremony, His Majesty will meet representatives from local businesses before joining a reception attended by a variety of organisations from the Lancaster area.
Road closures are in place in the vicinity.
