The air ambulance helicopter was called out after two people were taken ill in Morecambe within minutes of each other.
Emergency services raced to Morecambe Promenade on Thursday morning after reports of two separate medical incidents on Marine Road.
A woman and a man, both in their 50s, were taken to hospital, both in a serious condition,
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said they were called at 11.27am on Thursday to reports of an unresponsive patient.
They sent two air ambulances, a road ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and two on scene commanders.
A North West Air Ambulance spokesperson said a woman had suffered a suspected cardiac arrest. She was airlifted to hospital.
The air ambulance had also been called out earlier that morning after reports that a man had collapsed at a bus stop. The helicopter was stood down en route to the incident.
North West Ambulance Service said they received a call at 11.02am to reports that a man had collapsed, and sent a road ambulance and a rapid response vehicle. The police also attended.
