A man in his 20s has died and another man has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the roof of a house they were working on collapsed.
Lancashire Police said emergency services were called to Church Brow in Bolton-le-Sands at just before 1pm this afternoon (February 8) following reports that two men had been seriously injured while carrying out building work. Officers later confirmed that a man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man in his 40s, who had been working on the building, was taken to hospital by the Great North Air Ambulance with life-threatening injuries. He remains in an 'extremely serious condition'. Church Brow remains closed for investigation work and motorists and pedestrians are being advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
Lancashire Police said they are leading the investigation into the tragic incident with support from the Health and Safety Executive and enquiries are ongoing.
