Engineers have repaired a burst pipe in Galgate after residents were left without water for more than half a day.
Householders reported low pressure or no water at all in the LA1 and LA2 areas of Lancaster on Monday afternoon.
The incident was logged on the website of water company United Utilities at 3.19pm.
United Utilities said at 9.10pm on Monday that repairs were under way to the leak at the junction of Stoney Lane and Armitage Way.
At 12.17am on Tuesday they said they were making good progress with the repairs, and then at 5.32am they said that water should be flowing again.
United Utilities apologised for the disruption and a statement on their website said: "It may take up to two hours for your water pressure to return to normal.
"You may also experience some discolouration to your water, this is due to the repair work on the pipe and should clear after a short time."
