Carnforth firefighters had to walk to the scene of a blaze over the weekend due to parked cars blocking the road.
They were called out on Saturday evening (March 8), while they were on their way ti standby duties at Lancaster Fire Station whilst they were dealing with another incident.
On the way they were diverted to reports of a fire in the open, but due to public parking they were unable to get to the location, and so firefighters left on foot to locate the fire so it could be tackled.
Fire crews are now reminding motorists to park responsibly, leaving enough space for fire engines and other emergency vehicles to pass, as every second counts in an emergency.
