A street party and carnival will be held on Morecambe Promenade to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.
Morecambe Town Council will host a Coronation Carnival on Sunday May 7 when tables will line the Prom from The Battery to Morecambe Town Hall to mark the royal occasion.
People who attend can enjoy a celebratory lunch while watching a parade of performers.
The town council is promising a "fun-filled day of activities for the community to enjoy, as well as community engagement activities in the run up to the day itself, embracing the coronation themes of youth, community, diversity and sustainability". More details to be announced closer to the coronation.
Tickets will be released soon and the event starts at 1pm.
Councillor Cary Matthews, chair of Morecambe Town Council, said: “Our Coronation Carnival will not only be the perfect way for Morecambe to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III, but it will provide a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together and celebrate everything that makes Morecambe special.
"It will be the biggest celebration we’ve ever put on for our town, and I for one can’t wait!”
The coronation of King Charles III will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday May 6, and there is an extra bank holiday on Monday May 8.
The town council organised the Queen's Platinum Jubilee street party last June, when thousands enjoyed an outdoor lunch on tables stretching for 1.5km of the Promenade.
