Morecambe’s Dave Chisnall made it safely through to the second round the World Matchplay last night.
Chizzy overcame Kim Huybrechts 10-7 at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens to set up a second round clash with number two seed, former World champion, Gerwyn Price, on Wednesday evening.
Speaking to the PDC TV after the game, Chizzy said: ‘’Things are moving in the right direction.
‘’I was playing some lovely darts but struggling to hold my own throw at times.
‘’I had a bad year last year but I’m getting over that and practice has been going well.
‘’I’m not going to big myself up too much, I just want my darts to do the talking, and we’ll see how it goes from there.’’
Chizzy has reached the quarter finals of this tournament five times, and is on the hunt for his first televised title.
Earlier in the season he was forced to withdraw from the World Championship after testing positive for covid-19.
The former World Grand Prix finalist is the 15th seed.
