A council crackdown has revealed no breaches of licencing rules across dozens of pubs and clubs across Lancaster and Morecambe.
Lancaster City Council and Lancashire Police visited 36 premises during December, with none of the venues attended violating any of their licensing conditions.
During the month, Environmental Health and Licensing officers joined forces with Lancashire Police for a series of night time visits.
A spokesperson for Lancaster City Council said: ‘’It’s not about being a party pooper - it’s about helping to keep everyone safe while they enjoy a night out.
‘’Licensing and environmental health checks make sure venues are well run, welcoming and safe.
‘’It was fantastic to see no licence breaches and all required door staff arrangements were in place.
‘’Our officers also chatted with managers at six venues to highlight a few issues that needed attention - mostly paperwork - and offered guidance to help them get back on track.
‘’These checks help create safer, more enjoyable nights out for everyone - customers, staff and local residents.’’
The visits checked matters including making sure only trained, accredited security staff are working the doors, protecting young people by checking proof of age policies, preventing overcrowding and unsafe conditions, ensuring CCTV is working, keeping noise under control, checking fire exits, emergency lighting and safety measures are in place, and ensuring clean bar areas and access to free drinking water.
