Crew tackles car fire near motorway junction in Lancaster

Fire officers have tackled a car fire near a motorway junction in Lancaster.

A fire engine went out to a call this afternoon (March 2) on Caton Road near the M6 Junction 34 at 4.24pm.

The car was well alight when crews arrived and they extinguished the blaze. 

There were no casualties and it was believed to have been caused by an electrical issue.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said on Thursday afternoon: "Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire."
