Crews tackle Thurnham scrap metal fire

Fire crews attended a scrap metal fire at a commercial premises in Thurnham last night.

At around 9:25pm on Tuesday (April 26), four fire engines from Lancaster, Bolton-le-Sands, and South Shore, together with an aerial ladder platform from Morecambe, attended a commercial fire on Main Road.

The incident involved scrap metal and several vehicles.

Firefighters used two ceiling hooks, two hose reels, scene lighting, and a light portable pump to extinguish the fire.

They were at the scene for around two hours.
