Police said a driver was more than three times over the legal alcohol limit following a crash which brought the M6 to a standstill near Lancaster.
The crash was on Sunday afternoon on the M6 southbound near Junction 33.
One motorway lane was closed for a time, and there were long traffic delays in the area following the incident.
Lancashire Road Police posted a photo of the vehicle involved, on their X page on Sunday.
The post said: "This is the result of drink driving from an RTC (Road Traffic Collision) earlier this afternoon on the M6 southbound near to J33.
"Fortunately no serious injuries and no other vehicles involved.
"Although, the driver provided a roadside breath sample more than three times the legal alcohol limit."
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said the driver had gone to hospital and they would progress enquiries.
