Emergency services were called out to several road crashes near Lancaster within hours of each other in heavy rain.
A driver was taken to hospital after one incident on Sunday where a car had crashed into the hard shoulder on the M6 and landed on its side.
Fire crews said they had come across the incident while on their way to another call-out for an overturned wagon on the motorway.
They were also called to a road traffic collision in Carnforth and to a car down a banking near Caton.

A spokesperson for Hornby Fire Station, posting on Facebook, said: "The crew have had a very busy (and wet) afternoon today.
"Hornby were mobilised standby Lancaster at 14:02pm to provide cover whilst their appliance was out of area.
"From Lancaster the crew were mobilised to an RTC (road traffic collision) in Carnforth alongside Carnforth Fire Station and Bolton-le-Sands.
"Shortly after booking available the crew were mobilised to a car down a banking near Caton alongside Morecambe Fire Station.
"From there the crew were fire flashed to an overturned wagon on the M6 - whilst on the way to this they came across another car which had crashed into the hard shoulder and landed on its side - one driver was taken to hospital for further assessment."
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two fire engines from Hornby and Morecambe attended a road traffic collision on Lancaster Road, Hornby (call time, 3.36pm on Sunday). One casualty was extricated by fire crews using triple extension ladder and stabilisation equipment. Crews were in attendance for 30 minutes."
