Over the last decade, walking football has grown in popularity across the UK, and for one club in Garstang, they’re taking extra measures to make sure they’re fit, injury free and raring to go.
Garstang FC Walking Football Team was formed in December 2020 to promote both physical and mental health primarily in the over 50s, with sessions at Garstang Academy outdoors on astroturf on Mondays 8pm-9pm and Saturdays 10am-11am.
But, how do you keep a team of walking footballers fit and free from injury?
The answer is yoga!
