Firefighters were called to Heysham as residents of a housing estate reported hearing "loud bangs" and "an explosion".
The incident was a vehicle fire on Greenfinch Way in Heysham on Saturday night.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called at 10.46pm and extinguished the fire.
Residents posting on Facebook said they had heard loud bangs and an explosion at one point, and had seen lots of smoke in the area.
