Firefighters free trapped motorist after road crash near Lancaster

Firefighters have freed a motorist who was trapped in a car after a crash near Lancaster.

Three fire engines from Lancaster, Bolton-le-Sands, and Hornby were called to a road traffic collision on Lancaster Road, Hornby on Sunday January 14 at 8.59am.

Crews stabilised the vehicle and, using ladders and stabilisation equipment, released the motorist who was then passed to the care of the ambulance service and taken to hospital for further checks.

Fire crews were in attendance for approximately 30 minutes.

Police were also on the scene and the road was closed following the incident.
