A former Morecambe head teacher is moving on from her role as CEO of a Lancaster charity for young people.
Siobhan Collingwood will leave her role at Escape2Make next week, it has been announced.
Mrs Collingwood, who is best known locally for being head teacher of Morecambe Bay Primary School, a role she held for 17 years until 2021, has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of E2M since 2024.
"I’m sad to be reaching the end of my work with the joyful and life affirming E2M," said Mrs Collingwood.
"It has been a delight to work with the hugely creative young people, artists, staff team and trustees that make E2M so brilliant and to reconnect with the community networks across Lancaster and Morecambe.
"I really do look forward to watching the charity’s continued growth and development."
During her time with E2M, Mrs Collingwood kickstarted work with young people facing emotionally based school avoidance, wrote funding applications that have raised thousands of pounds for the organisation, led the E2M team through a move into their first ever premises, built positive relationships with young participants in sessions and introduced Escape2Make's brand new 'Connect' activity, helping E2M reach different communities.
Kyle McKenzie, senior production manager at E2M, said: "Working with Siobhan has been an absolute pleasure. She has taught me and the rest of the team so much and her effect on the organisation will stand for a long, long time. I know wherever she goes, she will continue to be an invaluable asset."
Mrs Collingwood will take on another CEO role for Lancashire Women, an organisation who provide safe spaces for women to have their voices heard, helping them to regain agency over their life choices.
E2M aims to help all 11-18 year-olds in the Lancaster and Morecambe area to escape from boredom, social media, loneliness and any pressure at school or home by providing workshops and short courses hosted by local businesses, national businesses, local artists and university students.
It has also run successful youth-led events in the local area including a Green Festival and Heritage Marketplace Festival.
Earlier this year, E2M opened its brand new young people's centre on Church Street in Lancaster.
