A fundraiser has been set up to help a family of six after their house in Heysham was destroyed by fire.
Fire crews were called to an address on Yewdale Avenue just before 10.30pm on Monday (January 26).
The family managed to escape, but are now homeless due to the extensive damage the blaze caused.
One member of the family said on Facebook: “We have had so many messages I just simply can’t reply right now, my heart is absolutely broken, never ever do I want to drag our babies out of their beds and not know if we were going to get them out.
“I appreciate absolutely everyone who is helping us or just asking if we are ok but for now we are heartbroken.”
A fundraising page has been set up by neighbour Karen Johnson to support the family, with hundreds of pounds already raised.
Karen said: "My neighbours lost absolutely everything, so myself and their family are trying to raise funds to help them to re-start their life.’’
"They are a young family with four young children/babies, they have been left homeless with only the pyjamas as clothing.
"I know our community are lovely people and will try to do everything they can, so please if you have a little spare they would really appreciate your help.’’
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: ‘’At 22:26 hours on 26th January 2026, three fire engines from Morecambe and Lancaster attended an incident on Yewdale Avenue, Heysham.
‘’Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, positive pressure ventilation and two hose reels to extinguish the fire and assisted six casualties.
‘’Crews were detained for three hours.’’
A North West Ambulance spokesperson said all six casualties were taken to hospital for care.
