Fabulous scarecrows pulled in the crowds at a three-day fairytale and book character-themed festival in Garstang.
The Garstang Scarecrow Festival ran from July 1 to 3 and was a fantastic event for the community with local people and businesses all getting involved to make some amazing scarecrows around the town.
The theme at the third annual Scarecrow Festival was fairytales and book characters.
The organising team thanked "everyone who supported the event, made a scarecrow, our wonderful volunteers, Garstang Lions, Garstang Rotary Club, St Thomas’ Church, Garstang Town Council, Wyre Council for the extra bins, DJ Darrel Edwards who put in 10 hour shifts each day, Dan Fowler for the use of his field for car parking, the judges who had a terribly difficult yet enjoyable job, our fabulous first aid team, Wyred 4 Sound, Garstang Ukulele Band, Batala Lancaster, Boddington Bells, Blackpool Brass band who still performed when eight players couldn’t attend due to Covid, Hilary our super Town Crier, Carrs Jewellers for the donation of trophies, Garstang Library, all our charity stalls and everyone who attended, the wonderful Jo & Mike aka Aunt Sally & Worzel Gummidge plus all our sponsors!"
