The grand opening day of a new Toys 'R' Us shop in Lancaster has been announced.
The store's grand opening will take place inside WH Smith on Market Street in the city centre on Saturday August 10 from 8.30am to 1pm.
Toys 'R' Us mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe will be there for an official ribbon cutting when the store opens at WH Smith, before greeting visitors to the store throughout the morning.
The first 50 children visiting the store will also receive a free Toys 'R' Us goody bag worth over £20.
In May, WH Smith announced they had signed an exclusive agreement with the toy retail giant to open a further 30 'shop-in-shops' across the UK over the summer months.
Toys 'R' Us went out of business in 2018, closing all of its 100 shops with the loss of more than 2,000 jobs.
Plans for the relaunch were announced in October 2022, prior to an exclusive deal being struck with WH Smith to open concessions inside Smith's stores across the country.
