The ferry that runs between the Isle of Man and Heysham suffered damage overnight while entering port.
The Manxman sustained damage entering Heysham Port in the early hours of this morning (August 21), although no passengers or crew were injured in the incident and all were able to disembark safely.
The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, who operate the service, said the relevant authorities have been notified and the company will issue an update once further details of the incident are known.
Manxman will remain at Heysham for the time being, while contingency plans are being activated to minimise disruption.
Ben-my-Chree is being utilised as a back up vessel, and left Heysham at around 5:15am, carrying as many passengers as possible who were due to travel on Manxman's scheduled 2:15am departure.
