Families have helped to celebrate the opening of a newly-extended school nursery in Morecambe.
An open day was held at the new 'Sandylands Little Seahorses' nursery extension for two and three year olds on Thursday.
Among the families attending were Victoria Frith, her daughter Lauren Nicole Frith and granddaughter Thea-Ivy Burrows. Both Victoria and Lauren went to Sandylands Primary School and now Thea-Ivy will go to the nursery, making it three generations of the family.
Councillor Margaret Pattison, mayor of Lancaster, cut the ribbon to officially open the nursery inside 'The Venue' - a mothballed former children's centre on Balmoral Road.
Lizzi Collinge, MP for Morecambe and Lunesdale, also visited the open day.
The new facility has enabled Sandylands, who already have a school nursery, to welcome pre-school children aged two and three years.
The brand new facilities, offering 18-20 places, will open on Monday June 9.

"It was built for the people and the community and this is about regeneration," said Mrs Hickson.
"Now people can use it again and parents can go back to work and get free childcare under the government scheme."
