A very special guest will be part of the first ever Bay International Film Festival in Morecambe later this year - organisers have revealed.
Jan Harland, right-hand man of legendary film director Stanley Kubrick, will be guest of honour at the debut event to be held in October at the Reel Cinema in the town.
Jan worked as producer alongside his brother-in-law Kubrick on classic films Full Metal Jacket, A Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut, Barry Lyndon and The Shining.
He will give a talk at the opening of the festival and also take part in a Q&A after a screening of the 1987 Oscar and Bafta-nominated war drama Full Metal Jacket.
Jan is pictured below with festival events co-ordinator and Beyond Radio's own Matt Panesh.

There are other exciting plans for the debut film festival as revealed by its producer and co-ordinator Anna Kumacheva, who spoke exclusively to Beyond Radio.

The first Bay International Film Festival will take place at the Reel Cinema on Central Drive from October 27-29.

"Everyone is very excited to bring this new event to Morecambe," said Anna.
"We are planning for it to be annual and hopefully bring some really exciting filmmakers, producers from around the UK and the world.
"There will be some thought-provoking films, something to talk about after it.
"There was no film festival in Morecambe so I thought I'd just do it as I've always dreamed of founding my own film festival.
"We're starting in Morecambe with the big event in the last weekend of October and then before the next edition of the festival we will have a travelling tour around the bay; we are talking with venues in Ulverston, Grange-over-Sands, Carnforth and Barrow."
As part of the festival, there will be an international short films competition.
So far the organisers have received around 300 submissions from 15 countries and Anna said the quality was very high.
In February Beyond Radio exclusively announced that the first Bay International Film Festival would be taking place in Morecambe.
