An investigation is under way after two open-air fires broke out at the same location in Carnforth on the same day.
Firefighters were called to a small fire in the open on the opposite side of the railway line near The Travellers Choice transport company at Carnforth on Tuesday.
They extinguished the fire using buckets of water and an aqua pack, then left.
After returning back to the station, they received a telephone call saying it was blazing again. The crews returned to the scene where they found another section of reeds well alight.
They used beaters, aqua pack and then used a light portable pump to soak the whole area to prevent any further spread.
The cause is being investigated by Lancashire Police.
