A community centre in Lancaster has been awarded more than £300,000 of lottery funding.
The Marsh Community Centre will receive £304,574 over the next four years thanks to a successful bid from the National Lottery Community Fund – Reaching Communities programme.
A spokesperson said: ‘’We’re thrilled to share some amazing news!
‘’This incredible support means we can continue offering vital help to our community — from food support, advice services, and youth work to well-being activities, parent groups, and so much more.
‘’Thank you to National Lottery players — your support is changing lives here on the Marsh.’’
The charity, based on Willow Lane, offer a range of services to local residents including assistance with housing, benefits, and jobs, and a full programme of community activities every week.
The National Lottery’s Reaching Communities programme offers flexible funding to organisations in England who want to take action on the issues that matter to people and communities.
It supports organisations with great ideas that enable communities to thrive, with grants awarded to voluntary and community organisations or social enterprises to fund project activities, operating costs, organisational development and capital costs.
