A Lancaster community choir has proven to be the 'People's Choice' by winning a top county-wide award.
Barton Road Community Choir was announced as winner of the People's Choice Award at the Lancashire Choir of the Year finals on Thursday.
The award was voted for by the public, after Barton Road Community Choir reached the final six in the Lancashire choir competition.
The choir performed alongside other finalists at a celebration concert at the Great Hall at Lancaster University, where the winners were revealed.
Overall winners of Lancashire Choir of the Year was the Leyland-based Red Rosettes Show chorus. Runners-up were The Capricorn Singers and the Basic Vocalise Choirs.
Helen Bingley OBE, the High Sheriff of Lancashire who attended the awards, said it was a "wonderful evening of singing and joy".
The Barton Road Choir has been singing and bringing joy to audiences for the last decade and says their repertoire ranges "from the popular to the traditional to the downright bizarre".
