A Lancaster man says there is ‘confusion and no information’ at an airport in France after two planes collided at Manchester.
Local photographer Joshua Brandwood and his family were due to be heading home after a family holiday in Paris, to be greeted with uncertainty upon arrival at Charles de Gaulle Airport.
EasyJet said two of its planes collided while taxiing at Manchester Airport, including the one due to take off to Paris, at around 6:30 on Friday morning.
There have been no reports of injuries and both aircraft suffered minor damage.
Flights have now resumed at the airport following a brief suspension for a safety assessment.
"I first learned about the incident at Manchester Airport this morning from a fellow passenger, who told me that our scheduled flight had collided with another aircraft,’’ said Mr Brandwood (pictured below).

‘’I later read a news report confirming that, thankfully, there were no injuries. As an already extremely nervous flyer, even the slightest sign of a problem with an aircraft makes me very anxious.
‘’Our flight was due to depart this morning, but we have yet to be informed when, or if, our aircraft will arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport today.
‘’Safety is paramount, so I would much prefer that all necessary checks are carried out thoroughly, no matter how long it takes."
‘’Despite the incident, we enjoyed a wonderful family holiday in Paris and will do our best not to let this overshadow the experience. Sometimes, these things are simply beyond our control.’’
A spokesperson for EasyJet said: "EasyJet can confirm that the wing tips of two aircraft came into contact whilst taxiing to the runway at Manchester Airport this morning.
"The aircraft returned to stand to disembark customers who have been provided with refreshment vouchers whilst replacement aircraft are arranged to operate the flights.
"We apologise to customers for the delay.
"The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority."
EasyJet added that the flight back to Manchester was now due to leave at 2:20pm.
