A Lancaster movie maker's latest action film is gaining widespread acclaim as it's screened at cinemas across the UK this month.
Chee Keong Cheung has produced and directed 'Son of the Soil' which has received awards and gained positive reviews.
Son of the Soil follows Zion Ladejo, a former Nigerian Special Ops paratrooper, who has built a quiet life in exile, but his sister’s sudden death drags him back home to a Nigeria battling drugs, corruption and organised crime.
The Guardian newspaper described it as a "scrappy gangland action romp, mixing Nollywood energy with bloody set pieces and a dash of 80s-style grit".
Here is the official trailer for Son of the Soil. Warning, contains scenes of violence.
The film is being screened in UK cinemas this month including in London, Nottingham, Stockport and Bolton.
It has already received three Black Star Film Festival awards and the AFRIFF (Africa International Film Festival) Audience Choice Award.
The film has been given seven nominations at the upcoming Best of Nollywood Awards celebrating the best in the Nigerian film industry, to be held this weekend in Lagos.

Chee has a lifelong love of movie making and shot his very first action film in Lancaster as a teenager. His family have run the Golden Dragon restaurant in the city centre for many years.
During his more than 20-year career in the film industry he has worked with top names including Sir Ian McKellen and Richard Dreyfus, and his previous film credits include 'Bodyguard: A New Beginning', 'Underground' and the zombie action adventure 'Redcon-1' for which scenes were filmed in Lancaster.
