Bosses at the historic Lancaster Grand say their new logo pays homage to the theatre’s restoration efforts.
They’ve unveiled a striking new logo, created in partnership with artist, Sandy Gardner.
Wildlife artist Sandy, has already left her mark on Lancaster with various creations, including the 'Wings for local heroes' mural in St Nic's Arcade and an interactive illuminated piece for Light Up Lancaster and Lakes Alive.
The artwork includes a new skyline featuring the iconic Lancaster Grand Theatre, in a piece called ‘Lunar Swans’, capturing the essence of the city’s history, heritage and landmarks
A spokesperson for the Grand said: ‘’Today marks a significant milestone for Lancaster Grand Theatre. Our new logo and colours pay homage to the heritage restoration efforts that transformed our beloved theatre, in collaboration with Lancaster High Streets Heritage Action Zone.
‘’Many of Lancaster's beautiful buildings are featured within the Lunar Swans of Lancaster, including the Angel of Peace from Lancaster's Garden of Remembrance.
‘’The cityscapes on the Grand Theatre billboards hide a dinosaur, in recognition of Lancaster-born paleontologist Richard Owen.
‘’We're thrilled to embark on this new chapter with you, embracing our rich heritage while looking ahead to an exciting future. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey with us!’’
Sandy Gardner added: ‘’I was delighted to contribute to the re-branding for The Lancaster Grand Theatre.
‘’Four things are important to my practice as an artist; the natural world, conservation, community, and collaborating with local businesses.’’
