Lancaster park show Wizard of Oz up for Lancashire Tourism Award

The Wizard of Oz was performed in Williamson Park during the summer

The annual walkabout theatre show in a Lancaster park has been shortlisted for a Lancashire Tourism Award.

The Dukes' 'The Wizard of Oz' has been named a finalist in the Small Event category at the biggest and only county-wide celebration of tourism excellence in Lancashire.

The popular family show was performed throughout the summer in Williamson Park.

The Small Event was one of three categories in which the finalists were announced this week, completing the full list for next year's awards ceremony.

The Dukes had already been announced as a finalist in the Cultural Venue/Organisation category.

Other local finalists at the awards include The Bath in Morecambe, Lancaster Walks, Talks and Tours, Moss Wood Caravan Park in Cockerham and Brackenthwaite Holidays, Yealand Redmayne.

The black-tie ceremony will take place in February 2026 at a Lancashire location, yet to be confirmed.
