A Lancaster singer is looking forward to releasing his debut single with a launch party this Friday night (July 22).
Mike Haywood's new song 'The Dancer' will be officially launched at Lancaster Brewery, Lancaster Leisure Park, this Friday night (July 22).
The song marks Mike's comeback to the music business after almost a decade's absence.

Mike won the Lancaster and Morecambe Newspapers' 'Voice of 2006' talent show at The Morecambe Dome while still in his teens.
He had also appeared on Michael Barrymore's 'My Kind of People' at the age of four and also performed as Bobby Darin on 'Stars in Their Eyes Kids'.
The former Lancaster Royal Grammar School pupil released an album of big band covers in 2013 called 'All of Me' but hasn't produced any music since, and instead focussed on building up his own virtual reality property business.
Then during the Covid lockdown, he met one of his mum's neighbours, David Dann, who'd written 'The Dancer'. And the rest is history!

The ballad is on the Beyond Radio playlist and Mike will perform it live this Friday with a full band.
The launch night starts at 7.30pm. It will feature support from local singer Olivia Mae Mulqueeney and host/DJ Dan Roach.
