A Lancaster writer's ghost story set in an imagined version of Morecambe - narrated by a much-loved actor - will be aired on national radio.
'The White Lady of Morecambe' by local writer Jenn Ashworth is a five-part story for BBC Radio 4, to be voiced by Julie Hesmondhalgh.
Jenn has described it as "a folk-horror eco-gothic near future ghost story mash up set in an imagined version of my beloved Morecambe".
'The White Lady of Morecambe' will be broadcast on Monday February 2 and then every night that week, at 10.45pm.
Episodes will be 'The Drowned Shore', 'The Undertow', 'King Tide Night', 'The Burning Tide' and 'What Remained'.
Jenn, pictured below, is based in Lancaster and is an award-winning novellist and a professor of writing at Lancaster University. Her latest novel 'The Parallel Path' came out last year.

Her first novel, A Kind of Intimacy, was published in 2009, and was awarded a Betty Trask Award by the Society of Authors
Julie is best known for her roles as Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street, in Broadchurch, Mr Bates versus The Post Office and Happy Valley, and as the voice of The Weakest Link quiz show on TV.
