
Fire crews were called to the M6 near Lancaster after a large vehicle caught fire.
Crews from Morecambe, Carnforth and Hornby Fire Stations were called to the incident just after 11:40am on Monday (May 19).
On arrival it was found that the rear axle and hub on the vehicle had overheated and were steaming off.
Crews used a hose reel to cool down the affected area and the incident was then handed over to the Highways Agency for vehicle recovery.
