A hub at a Lancaster leisure centre has been renamed in memory of a popular class instructor passed away earlier this year.
Sue Taylor died in June, and dedicated 20 years to Lancaster City Council, beginning her career in the finance team before moving to Salt Ayre, where she became a much-loved fitness instructor known for her energy, kindness, and ability to make everyone feel welcome.
Sue was described as "the brightest soul" and praised for her "boundless positivity".
Now, The Hub at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre has been officially renamed in tribute to her.
The newly named Sue Taylor Hub was opened last week with Sue's family, gym members and staff from Salt Ayre as a legacy to Sue.
Watch a video here of Sue's daughter Emma paying tribute to her mum and her love of teaching, together with Salt Ayre Operations Manager Claudia Russell.
A spokesperson for Lancaster City Council added: ‘’Sue inspired countless members and colleagues alike and her passion for teaching Body Balance was unmatched.
"Sue was a cherished part of the Salt Ayre family – as a dedicated member of our centre staff and a much-loved class instructor. Sue’s warmth, positivity and infectious energy lit up every space she was in, and it was truly a joy to know her.
"Sue made a lasting impact on so many of us. She had a way of lifting those around her, and her absence will be deeply felt by our team and by the many members who knew and loved her.’’
