Lifeboat crew rescued people cut off by tide on Morecambe beach after being called out during the RNLI's 200th anniversary celebrations.
The Morecambe RNLI team had a report that people were stranded just off the Midland beach, at around 11.25am on Saturday.
The lifeboat quickly responded and escorted them safely to shore.
RNLI volunteers were at Morecambe Hovercraft Station where a family fun day was taking place to mark two centuries of the lifeboat service, when the call came.
Later that day at 12.24pm, whilst the inshore lifeboat was on exercise, reports of a body board were received being washed up on the south side of the stone jetty.
The lifeboat crew diverted from exercise to investigate but upon arrival found nobody in danger.
“Saturday was our Open Day celebrating the RNLI’s 200th anniversary," said Paul Turner, lifeboat operations manager at Morecambe.
"Whilst the crew were enjoying talking to the visiting public, when a deployment was needed their professionalism automatically kicks in and they ensure they undertake their duty.
"A successful weekend both for the event and the two shouts. At this time I’d like to say a big thank-you for all those who supported our event on Saturday."
