A group of creative people are literally bringing 'Good Things' to Morecambe and have big plans to expand their work further.
The Good Things Collective is a community-owned and driven Community Interest Company, based at 3 Northumberland Street in Morecambe town centre.
They support community-led activities that are creative, socially good and sustainable, and say their aim is to "make sure people have access to the skills, stuff and spaces that they need to make good things happen".
The Good Things Collective, which began in the West End of Morecambe and was previously based in the Arndale centre before moving to its current home, has a programme of activities and aims to create more opportunities in the area.
Their building hosts artist studios, social enterprises and co-working rooms, and after signing a 15-year lease on the premises, they are fundraising hoping to create a community hub including a cafe, performance and workshop space.

The Good Things Collective will host an open weekend on October 24 and 25 for people who want to find out more about their work.
Below, the Good Things Collective is based at 3 Northumberland Street in Morecambe

An exhibition opening on the Friday night will showcase a range of artworks by the Collective members. This will be accompanied by two live DJ sets and a pop-up bar & nibbles (6pm-10pm).
On the Saturday (noon to 4pm) they will open the café with some live music in the community hub. There will also be a ghost hunt and interactive theatre happening around the rest of the house, alongside a variety of workshops run by collective members.
On the Saturday night from 5pm to 10pm, they will be serving and sharing some food in the community hub and opening up a pop-up bar for the night. Then at 7pm ‘Get Your Words Out’ will start. This is an open mic, spoken word event run by Jim Lupton from The Nib Crib.
