Further plans have been submitted which could see an even larger property being built on land at the front of Morecambe’s Mazuma Stadium.
Local residents have been sent a letter outlining the scheme, which would see the piece of land just to the east of Christie Way being used for the erection of a detached dwelling, garage, pool room and the erection of fence and gates.
In recent days, the plot, which isn’t owned by the football club, has been cleared and levelled.
Planning permission was initially granted late last year for a smaller development on the land, and was then a revised scheme also passed. This further revised, larger scheme, is set to go before the council’s planning committee at some point in the near future, following a consultation period with stakeholders.
The plans have been met with disappointment with a number of local residents, who have taken to social media to express concerns over matters such as location, access and issues on matchdays.
