Lorry driver issued with prohibition notice after stop on M6 at Lancaster

A lorry driver was issued with a prohibition notice after police stopped a vehicle on the M6 at Lancaster.

Lancashire Road Police stopped the HGV at Forton services last night after discovering issues with the lorry’s lights.

Upon checking how many hours the driver had been behind the wheel, it was discovered that there were severe breaches of weekly rest periods.

The driver was issued with a prohibition notice and fined.

The vehicle was also ‘cabled’, meaning it couldn’t be driven, to enforce the required rest period.
