Legendary singer, actress and TV personality Lulu is coming to the Lancaster Grand.
Lulu will be appearing at the Lancaster theatre on Friday May 26 2023, with tickets going on sale this Friday (July 1).
Real name Marie Lawrie, Lulu will tell the story of her life and seven-decade career and invite the audience to enjoy the music that has been her constant companion, in her show 'This is Lulu - For the Record.'
Lulu first shot to fame in 1964 when her signature song 'Shout' became a Top 10 hit.
In 1967 she starred in the film 'To Sir With Love' and her rendition of the theme tune became the biggest selling hit of the year in America.
She then won the Eurovision Song Contest for the UK in 1969 with 'Boom Bang-a-Bang' and sang the theme tune to the 1974 James Bond film 'The Man with the Golden Gun'.
Lulu also had UK chart hits with songs including 'I'm a Tiger', 'The Boat that I Row' and 'The Man who Sold the World'.
She enjoyed a 90s career renaissance with her solo hit 'Independence' followed by a number one hit 'Relight my Fire' alongside Take That in 1993.
Elton John wrote songs with her, Bowie produced and recorded with her, McCartney duetted with her and one of the Bee Gees married her. It’s a story that has to be told and provides a once-in-a-lifetime insight into some of the world’s musical legends.
