A man has been arrested as police continue to investigate after a substance was thrown at a victim on a Lancaster street.
Officers were called at around 2pm on Tuesday March 19 to reports that individuals had arrived in a vehicle outside the Spar shop on Willow Lane in Lancaster, approached a man and threw a substance at him.
The man suffered facial injuries.
Det Insp Adie Knowles of Lancaster Police, speaking on his regular Beyond the Beat show on Beyond Radio, said they were looking for three individuals and one arrest had been made.
Det Insp Knowles said it was "an extremely serious assault" and enquiries were continuing to determine what was thrown at the man.
