A man has been arrested after more than 70 vehicle number plates were spray painted in Lancaster and Morecambe.
Police said they had received numerous calls from residents of Bowerham, Scotforth and Morecambe reporting that their vehicle number plates had been sprayed.
Officers put out an appeal last week after vehicles were targeted overnight around Coulston Road and Dorrington Road in Lancaster.
Black spray paint was used in the Lancaster incidents, and then during the early hours of this morning, white spray paint was used to spray vehicle number plates in Morecambe.
Following door-to-door enquiries, a male suspect has now been arrested in connection with the crimes.
