Man arrested on suspicion of robbery at Lancaster off licence

A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery at an off licence in Lancaster city centre.

Lancaster Area Police said a 38-year-old man was in custody following the incident.

They had launched an appeal for information after officers were called to the Beer Store, Cheapside, Lancaster, at around 11pm on August 6, to a report a man had entered the store carrying a baseball bat and taken a bottle of spirits, then headbutted the shopkeeper and damaged the counter, and the front of two other shops further up the street.
