Man charged after walking on West Coast Main line at Lancaster

A man was arrested over the weekend after causing disruption to the rail network by walking on the line.

The 29-year-old phoned British Transport Police, stating he was walking on the West Coast Main Line on Saturday night.

He was arrested at Lancaster.

He has been charged with Railway Obstruction after a number of trains were delayed.

The man was remanded in custody to appear in court.
