A man has been charged with a number of offences after an investigation into multiple burglaries on businesses in Lancaster city centre.
Following intelligence from the public on Tuesday (September 2), Anthony White, 43 of no fixed abode, was located by police immediate response officers and arrested.
He was interviewed and ultimately charged with five counts of attempted burglary, one burglary, one theft and a public order offence.
He has been remanded into custody ahead of a trial at Preston Crown Court on October 1.
A spokesperson for Lancaster Area Police said: ‘’A number of burglaries and attempted burglaries have been reported by a number of businesses in the city centre over the last month.
‘’We know this has affected our business community and the city centre neighbourhood team have been working hard to investigate these crimes.
‘’PC Shaun Foster and PC Sian Seddon, the two city centre police officers ask businesses to continue to report any suspicious activity, attempted breaks or burglaries to the police so we can thoroughly investigate them.’’
